THE Suburban Rugby League has named its representative team to participate in the forthcoming PNGRFL Southern Zone trials slated for August 11-15 at Sogeri, just outside Port Moresby.

With all PNGRFL affiliates from the Southern region expected to come, suburban president, Bill Aki said he is confident teams will do well to push for selection in the southern zone side.

Aki said the return of the concept last year is a godsend for rural and community-based players, who do not get the opportunity to play in the Digicel Cup.

“I congratulate the PNGRFL for making this happen for the second year running,” Aki said.

Suburban squad: Ron Wek, Danstan Tolopi, Roy Elison, Jerry Teme, Brian Adam, Allan Simbiri, Kapi James, James Tapie, Andako Hebari, Wilfred Mek, Amos Tilto, Michael Jessy, Chris Namba, Kevin Kepas, Missack Wellen, Wilfred Mark, Temai John, Michael Mini, Kem Wamuru, Eddie Elave, Junior Kana, Rodney Penda, Joel Paulus, Vernon Gabia, Bola Kambia, Samuel Kult, Abong Luna.
