AFL glamour teams, Taurama Suns and Dockers look set to fire off this weekend in Port Moresby’s AFL Seniors Esi-loan competition.

Suns strike player, Jeff Hardy Namete will be at his attacking best with enough grind to get a win when he combines with Dunstan Kase, nuggety Hucksy Ehava and sharp shooter Chris Mong for the main game on Saturday at the Taurama AFL oval.

Dockers powerhouse, Stan Isu will be shifting into high gear to bring Namete and his boys down and will have the experience of Desmond Kaumu and Emmanuela Tupia to rely on.

Current Mosquitoes and Suns player, Ferdinad Musi will hone his skills in preparation for the International Cup next month with reliable back up from Johnny Vogae, Sylvester Sindruwen, Alois Mondo, Garry Kele, Gideon Hauta and ruckman Billy Vele Jnr.

In other matches, slithering Gordon’s Kokofas should make an easy meal of CPL Gerehu Magpies while Concept Koboni’s Brendan Beno should lead a spirited charge against the University Tigers.

In Sunday’s main game at the Amini Park, Defence Hawks do battle with a full-strength Bomana Cats featuring PNG representatives Kataha Siwee and AFL South Pacific Under-16 MVP, Peter Lavong in a showdown against Giliab Philipus, Luke Savere Jr and Daniel Gitua.

Bottom-rung teams, Central Bombers and Gulf Giants will play on Sunday.

Bombers look to have more bite ahead of the Giants going into the weekend.
