The Digicel Cup Super 9s Northern kicks off in Madang tomorrow.

Sixteen teams from Lae, Wau, Bulolo, Kainatu, Vanimo, Wewak, Markham and hosts Madang, will compete for the right to advance to the Pacific Balance Fund Invitational 9s tournament in Lae next month.

The Lae teams are Lae Tigers, LBC Spiders and Royals, who start as the favourites over their opponents from the other provinces.

The PBF 9s will see eight confederate sides, an invitational overseas team, 10 Digicel Cup teams and the three new Digicel bidders for the 2015 season.

Silovo said the pool matches would be completed tomorrow, with the playoffs in the cup, plate and bowl on Sunday, followed by the presentation of cash prizes and trophies after finals.
