THE NASFUND Superannuation team set up a booth yesterday and today to provide an opportunity for exhibitors who attended the women in business expo in Port Moresby.

NASFUND noted that most women who attended the exposition came from rural areas and were not aware of the importance of saving for the long haul.

“The need to enable women to fully understand the benefits of saving which is an important aspect to save today for a better tomorrow.”

According to a statement, the booth was set up to open EDA Supa Accounts that could enable small business operators or entrepreneurs within informal and formal sector to save for their retirement. “The EDA Supa superannuation savings would provide small business women and men to contribute on a voluntary basis from as low as K20 on a monthly basis which would enable them to benefit from other savings products and services that NASFUND members enjoy.

In a brief presentation to the Tairu Women Business Council camp at the exposition, the women who travelled all the way from Gulf said they were amazed to learn that superannuation was not only for working people and that they were excited to invite the team to visit their province to educate other women and men who needed to know about the EDA SUPA Savings Account.
