PNG Power has denied it owes K4 billion in royalty to landowners at the Yonki dam, Eastern Highlands.
PNG Power public relations officer Jeremy Mark said PNG Power did not owe money to anyone and urged landowners to stop issuing misleading statements and direct all complaints  to the company.
Moses Taroya, who claimed to be the principal landowner of the 130ha of land, portion E, where the dam is built, said he had led the first protest in 1991 but no royalty was paid to the Punano 2 and Isotenu villages.
Mark said such claims were often bogus and did not help in electricity service delivery in the country.
