FARMERS in the Tambul-Nebilyer electorate of Western Highlands say they have been badly affected by the state of emergency restrictions.
This is according to a socioeconomic survey on business and household organised by the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and conducted by the Innovative Skills Training and Consultancy (ISTC).
The farmers estimated to have lost, in revenue, around K4 million.
Moses Pala, from ISTC, said the impact assessment indicated that the Covid-19 had caused lots of damage. The electorate is well known for food production because of the fertile soil with many people engaging in farming activities. Pala said the closure of Mt Hagen market affected people.
