Police said four men armed with a factory-made pistol and two home-made guns held up a family at Five-Mile and drove off in their vehicle.
“Members of the NCD Fox and Dog Units were quickly alerted and chased the gang into another street within the same vicinity at Five-Mile,” police said in a statement.
Police said the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled up a hill but officers pursued them on foot and arrested two of them. “In the ensuing chase, one of the suspects sustained a bullet wound to the head and was taken to the hospital,” police said.
While praising his men for their efforts, NCD Central Commander Assist Comm Anthony Wagambie Jr said many people worked hard to earn money and buy cars.
“The victims feel so much pain when such expensive properties are stolen by criminals. I am warning the youth who are involved in crime to quit their bad ways or face the full force of the law.”
