Suspect’s body awaits inquest

POLICE Assis Comm for Western End Kaiglo Ambane said the body of the suspect who allegedly shot dead a police mobile squad commander and wounded another in Hela remain in the morgue awaiting a coroner’s inquest.
Ambane said a date for the inquest was yet to be set.
The suspect identified as Lape Mope died around 11.30pm on Monday while in custody at the Mt Hagen police cell.
Ambane said he was one of the six people transported from Tari to Mt Hagen for questioning over the death of the late Sgt David Hale and the wounding of Const James Kopi last month in Tari.
