Sweet talk and empty promises

THE time has come again for politicians to make sweet talk, fund little projects, visit their electorates after being absent for years, while others eat and sleep in village houses to gain favour from the grassroots.
I wonder what empty promises they will make when the campaigning starts.
Most of our MPs are selfish and fail to provide basic development services, yet they now demand and beg like small children for power.
Due to their egotistic interests, they will do anything to stay in power.
The laws they pledged to uphold will be useless and rules will be diminished, with some wearing the Christian mask to win the heart of the people.
Billions of kina have been budgeted and spent, but how do we measure that when there are no tangible developments?
Our people must not be fooled.
I urge voters to be aware of politicians’ promises and not waste their vote on them!
