Swimming PNG returns Wells to top job for third term

INCUMBENT Papua New Guinea Swimming Incorporated president Elizabeth Wells was re-elected for the third year running following their annual general meeting recently.
Wells, who has been at the forefront of swimming in the country for close to two decades, was unanimously given the nod to take charge in the sport in 2016.
Ryan Agnew is the vice-president while Carly Pini is secretary and Sarenah Pini the treasurer.
The other officials are Barbara Skelton (registrar), Kathleen Maskeylyne (chief technical officer), Peter Kunda (publicity officer), Shannow Liew (property officer), Ashley Seeto (athlete representative), Bart Philemon (patron) and Sinton Spence (honarary auditor).
Wells was also bestowed a life membership of the PNGSI at the meeting, as was Olympian and PNG swim legend Ryan Pini for their services and dedication to swimming in PNG.
In other swimming related news, PNGSI took advantage of the Oceania Sports Education Programme (OSEP) to send some of its athlete and officials for the course.
Cecilia Tendipo and Judith Meauri attended OSEP’s sports in community administration course while Carly Pini, John Agovai and Gilbert Camillus attended the management in sporting organisation programme.
