THE success of the Lutheran synod held on Karkar Island early this month proves that its members are growing spiritually and keeping the Lutheran faith alive.

Roy Mirinke, representing Lutherans from Eastern Highlands, said there was an increase in the number of  members who attended the synod.

“We were pleased to see young and old people coming from as far as Reintebe and Bena Bena in EHP,” he said.

Mirinke, the son of a pioneer missionary, challenged Lutherans to keep the spirit of the church alive.

“The synod proved that faithful Lutherans are still there. So let us all Lutherans work together and do not let current issues affect our faith,” he said.

“The current generation and educated Lutherans must support and be involved in our districts.”
