Tackle law issues at village levels

Letters

THE proposal to recruit 500 police reservists in Morobe is a step forward in minimising law and order issues in Morobe.
I support Morobe Police Commander Supt Alex N’Drasal.
All the nine districts in Morobe and LLGs are not the same.
For example, 20 Buang LLG wards are law abiding and very peaceful communities.
We don’t really need policemen and women to come and solve our law and order issues.
The village court magistrates, peace officers, ward councillors and church leaders are doing a very good job and we expect the other eight districts in Morobe to follow suit.
Law and order issues should be tackled at the village level.
The province, districts and local level governments should allocate funding annually to support LLG law and order sectors.
Morobe has been a model province and our politicians and bureaucrats should think big and allocate funds to support this idea.
Police manpower should target Lae, Finschhafen, Bulolo and Wau leaving the LLGs to manage their own affairs at the council wards.
I urge all Papua New Guineans to avoid negative thinking and begin thinking positively about ourselves, our economy and help our Prime Minister James Marape take PNG forward.
