TAEKWONDO classes are open for the public at the Don Bosco Technological College at East Boroko which, according to convenor Edward Kassman, aims to promote fitness, flexibiilty and skill.
This is in contrast to the taekwondo classes being run at the Life Gymnasium by Stones Taekwondo which only targets children aged 7-15.
Kassman, who is the development officer of Sport Taekwondo PNG, said the training times had been amended to 5pm to accommodate school students and working people while training days remain on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Kassman said taekwondo athletes preparing for the Pacific Games selection tournament were taking things seriously and had been attending trainings.
He said a grading test was held at the Caritas Secondary School and similar tests would be conducted in March for all participants of the programme for promotional purposes.
Kassman said Sport Taekwondo PNG was pleased with the professional coaching and the positive attitude of the Korean coaches, participants and all stake holders.
