Taekwondo programme developed to target issues

STONES Taekwondo in conjunction with NCD Taekwondo will roll out its martial arts programme throughout NCD this year 2018.
The Waigani Taekwondo franchise club will also be launched by Master Jamuga Stone, pictured, founder of Stones Taekwondo, at the Sir John Guise Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
The taekwondo and martial art programmes will cover these topics: general fitness, body toning and balance, complete stretching routine, street smart self defence, traditional martial arts, unarmed combat martial art, grappling, vital and pressure points, g) one on one and multiple confrontations, martial arts weaponry, strong martial arts philosophy, sports martial art, national and international grading system.
Martial arts of Hapkido and Jujitsu will be introduced in April.
The Waigani Taekwondo Club will also be promoting Nationwide Community Initiatives namely “Stay Strong, Kick Drugs out of PNG”, “Stop Violence Against Women” and “Stop Bullying in Communities”.
Stone, a prominent sportsman and martial artist will spearhead these projects using martial arts as the driving force to promote these national social issues.
To capture the interest of the publicn and promote these national issues in NCD, the Waigani club at the Sir John Guise Indoor Stadium commenced and will close on the Feb 28.
Stone encouraged interested people of all ages to enroll.
Stone is appealing to business houses, the private sector and NCDC for partnership and sponsorship in promoting the martial arts programme and these three national community social issues.

Martial arts programmes will be in three categories: Little Dragons (7–14 years old); Young Warriors (15–20 years old) and City Warriors (21–36 years and above).
Training days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 4pm – 5.30pm (Little Dragons and Young Warriors); 5.30pm-7pm (City Warriors) – transport is provided for late classes.
