Tahiti puts hands for 2023

 TAHITI is the only country to put its hands up to host the 2023 Pacific Games.

Tahiti Sports Minister Rene Temeharo revealed this at the Pacific Games Council Annual General Meeting in Port Moresby on Sunday.

“As a representative of French Polynesia but more to the point as a member of the big Pacific family, I’m here proposing to you today the possibility that Tahiti would host the Pacific Games in 2023,” Temeharo said through a translator.

“Tahiti has hosted the South Pacific Games twice, first in 1971 and the last time 20 years ago to the day in 1995,” he said.
