Tahiti has dominated the Pacific Games va’a competition after completing a clean sweep of the marathons on at Ela Beach on Saturday.
In a spectacular finish, Tahiti won 10 out of the 12 gold medals on offer in this Games in the sprints and marathons in individual and team events.
During the last marathon races on Saturday the Tahiti women beat Cook Islands and New Caledonia to the gold in the 20 kilometre V6, while their male counterparts finished ahead of New Caledonia and Cook Islands to make a clean sweep in the marathon medals.
Since day one of va’a competition on Monday, 6,, Tahiti have bagged gold in 1500m V6 – men and women, 500m V6 – men and women, 500m V1 – men and women, 500m V12 men, 15km V1 – men, 20km V6 women and 30km V6 men.
