Take back PNG

Letters

“Take back PNG” as announced by Prime Minister James Marape is simple.
We urge the PM to ensure that MPs submit their PSIP/DSIP Acquittals to Department of Labour and Rural Development (DIRD) before the next release of PSIP/DSIP funds.
To date, there has been inconsistency in submitting of the PSIP/DSIP acquittals.
Three quarters of MPs do not submit their PSIP/DSIP acquittals on time and yet they keep on getting their PSIP/DSIP funds apart from some very committed Members of Parliament.
Those who do not submit, please refer them to Ombudsman Commission for transparency sake.
Even then too, there is nothing to show on the grounds regarding the performance of the members with respect to PSIP/DSIP funds.
If PSIP/DSIP funds were being put into where its mouth is, all the districts and provincial headquarters would have been developed to next level.
If not then where is PSIP/DSIP funds being allocated to?
One of the best performing provinces is Enga.
Rest of the provinces seems that they do not receive their share of PSIP.
Thus, it would be proper for officers working in DIRD to literally tour provinces and districts to see if services and infrastructures being implemented as per their acquittals.
Otherwise “Take back PNG” is a far from dream.
