Take responsibility for Alotau woes

Letters

I REFER to the article in yesterday’s The National “Group calls for Governor Crittin to step down”.
The Milne Bay Friends Foundation raised some good concerns facing the province, especially Alotau town.
The question all Milne Bay people should ask themselves is how the rise in crime started in the first place.
Almost all the crimes happening in the province are caused by the sons of Milne Bay people.
What are the parents doing to discipline their children at home?
Why have parents and relatives been harbouring these criminals?
Where are the local level government presidents and community leaders?
Alotau is a small town, it would not take long to identify these culprits.
But the people did very little to help the local police identify these criminals.
It took police from outside Alotau to go and round up all these suspects.
To blame only one man, the governor, is a cheap shot.
The governor does not have all the answers to the problems that are happening.
It’s the people that make up the province and it is time they stepped up and started making a change in the community.
Why should the governor step down now with only a year left until the next election?
The Milne Bay Friends Foundation should be blaming the people for electing the governor in the first place.
The national general elections are coming up soon.
Milne Bay, people, choose your leaders wisely.
