Take your bush knives back home

Letters

I AM concerned about the news about the recent killing of a Goilala man at Koki in the National Capital District a week ago.
As a concerned citizen and a Highlands man living in the city for the last 20 years, I condemn such barbaric actions by the two men.
Their actions were uncalled for.
That was not the first because over the years, similar killings occurred at Koki, Badili, 2-Mile, Gorobe, Talai, Kaugere, Sabama and surrounding areas.
Those atrocious killings are done by the same group of hooligans.
The Badili and town police including the people of Moresby South can agree with me that most victims were Central people living in the nation’s capital.
I am aware that many innocent lives were taken by people from the same province.
Central people are dying on their homeland while you and I are living comfortably in our homes.
Enough is enough.
Change your attitude and take your bush knives back home and chop down trees and cut bushes to plant crops.
You can be good farmers at home.
You can live a sustainable life there rather than floating aimlessly in the city and killing innocent lives.
I appeal to all law enforcement agencies and other government authorities to intervene and come up with a solution for everyone to live in harmony and respect regardless of where they come from.
I call on Central people to organise a protest march demanding the Government to evict the barbarians of other provinces and their families in Moresby South. Send them back to their home province.
They don’t deserve to live in the city.
