TAMARAWS ended Exodus’ unbeaten PNG Men’s Basketball League  run with a 99-88 in their Round 9 clash last Thursday at the Sir John Guise Indoor Complex.

Tamaraws, down by 22 points after two quarters regrouped to trump their opponents in a big finish.

They were well served by Parapa brothers Charles and Wally, Robert Kave, Richard Arava and Dodong Elavo and cousin Gabriel (Elavo) to attack and defend in the crucial stages.

Exodus were without star centre Apia Muri due to family commitment in Kerema while his brother Bomai was injured in the game and had to be carried out.

Siblings Purari and Dia Muri were at their best to get last year’s finalists off to a good lead in the first half of the match but they could not hold out the fast-finishing water buffalos.

Ladder: Exodus 16, Tamaraws 10, Jokers 6, Chariots 6, Saints.

Draw:  Saints vs Tamaraws (tomorrow), Chariots vs Exodus (Thursday).
