Tambul people preparing to launch banner for Bible

Faith

THE people of Tambul, Western Highlands, are preparing to launch the banner which was designed in 2015 to welcome the 400-year old Bible to PNG from the United States.
The banner was placed at the Kagamuga International Airport when the King James Version Bible reached Mt Hagen on Aug 1, 2015.
The launch will take place at Sahelm village in the Tambul-Nebilyer electorate.
Designer of the banner Peter Aika said the launch would take place on Aug 26.
Aika said he was a non-Christian but believed in God and was one of the many who had come up with a design for a banner.
He said the banner was what he could give back to God for the talent had been blessed with.
“We are preparing to launch the banner because we know God has set foot in our district and village,” Aika said.
“We are looking to make this banner the official one and keep it in our community so future generation can see it.”
He said that since receiving the Bible they had seen God move in their lives and that was why they wanted to launch the banner.
Aika said people were not living better lives through God and engaging in all sorts of activities.
He said God was the source of everything and they had to give him their best.
“I’m not a church goer but since designing the banner, I can feel God in my life and my aim is to make sure the people of Tambul will stage a successful launch.”
He said those who want to know more about the banner launch could call him on 7266 8637.
