LORMA Tarangau have wrapped up the minor premiership title despite a 8-8 draw against KTL Sharks when the Wabag rugby league season proper ended last weekend.
In front of a capacity crowd that packed the Johnson Siki Oval in Wabag, Tarangau, who were one of the consistent clubs throughout the season, proved that they could not be written off by winning the title.
The top five teams for this year’s finals are Tarangau, Knights, Jets, Brothers and Sharks.
They will play off in the finals while in the U19 division, Tigers, Finlorm Hawks, Jets, Knights and Tarangau will vie for the crown.
The first round of the finals this weekend will see Knights clash with Jets in the preliminary final and Sharks lock horns with Brothers in the first elimination final, tipped to be a blockbuster while Tarangau will be on bye.
In the U19 division, Finlorm Hawks meet Jets in the preliminary final while the Knights face Tarangau in the do-or-die encounter tomorrow.
Tsaka thanked business houses and individuals in Wabag for supporting the league, clubs  and teams.
