NGCB Trans Highway 7s tournament director Robin Tarere has appealed to teams participating in next week’s event to provide his office (SCRUM) with the final list of their 12 players and number of officials before paying the registration fee.

He said he would refund monies of teams which had not done so because of the potential for confusion come match day (Feb 19-20).

“The teams need to provide me with a list of their 12 players and officials before they pay the registration otherwise we might end up having them turn up with any number of players on the day and no way of knowing who is playing for who,” Tarere said.

In the latest news regarding teams,  PNGRFU general manager Billy Rapilla said yesterday that the PNG 7s team would play in the Trans Highway accepting Tarere’s invitation during the week.

Meanwhile, Oro has pulled out of the tournament while Goroka will be represented by a second team yet to be named and Buka will send a side.

From the hosts, Lae clubs Defence and Vikings have not confirmed their participation and Madang will send two club sides, Kalibobo Gunners and Newtown Pirates.
