INDUSTRIAL Centres Development Corporation (ICDC) has dressed the Lae police Task Force in new uniforms to motivate them.
ICDC acting managing director Leo Goina arrived in Lae last weekend and presented 24 sets of uniforms to officer-in-charge of the Task Force and Miles police, David Kumayon.
Goina handed over the uniforms to Kumayon, who was accompanied by two Task Force Units, and witnessed by Malahang Industrial Centre (MIC) manager Rosemary Adu.
Goina said MIC was owned by the Government and managed by ICDC to provide ready-built warehouse and shed facilities to cater for business entities.
“Without the police force to maintain and enforce law and order to instil peace and harmony within the communities, MIC can never flourish.” He said.
“MIC was privileged to become a central nerve centre to involve in industrial activities within the last 20 years with the confidence provided by various police units that contributed immensely in security of the city,” Goina said.
Kumayon thanked the ICDC and MIC for recognising Lae police as partners in development.
