TAXI operators in Port Moresby stationed at the Vision City taxi rank have thanked the RH Hypermarket for its fuel subsidy initiative.
Comfort taxi driver Jim Dita said he purchased fuel for K20 and was offered K3 in cash or for extra fuel.
He said it was good to see business houses realising the importance of the transport service.
Fellow Comfort taxi driver Joe Torato said it was a great compliment.
“We purchase fuel at their service station and this is a great compliment to us during such tough times,” he said.
“I hope other fuel service providers would also do the same.”
The RH Hypermarket said it would help taxi operators and PMVs in Port Moresby by providing fuel subsidy if they spend K20 or more at any of the RH Mobil fuel service stations at Vision City, 5-Mile and 8-Mile.
Taxi drivers can purchase anything at the fuel station and mini mart worth K20 or more and get the extra K3.
The Vision City mall management said in a statement it was a way of acknowledging taxi drivers for the service they provided.
