Taxi service improving, says PMV group

TAXI service in Port Moresby has been improving recently, the PMV Association says.
Association president Jack Waso told The National yesterday that positive feedbacks were received from local and overseas commuters.
“These commuters have thanked some of the taxi companies for keeping their belongings safe and returning them to the owners,” he said.
He said the commuters identified the taxi companies that were honest.
Waso said most service providers were doing a good job to sustain their business and taxi service and were exceedingly operating 24/7.
According to Kenny Trans Service managing director Wek Kewa said colour and design on his taxis was a factor that contributed immensely in choice.
He said before he started his taxi business, he picked a colour and a design to protect his identity.
He said the reason was to be responsible for any lost items left behind by any passengers or in case of an incident. Kewa said they managed to find a woman to return K80,000 she had left in one of the company cabs hired from the airport to Wildlife in 2013.
He said the woman realised that she had left the envelope of money after she had been dropped off and was devastated but had noticed the colour and design on the taxi.
