Teach children ethics, good values

Letters

FOR the past decades or so, we have seen a surge in violence, theft and ungracious acts taking a toll on the streets of our cities and towns and even into the core of our societies.
Every day, people are becoming too violent and ignorant, which as indirectly having a domino effect on our younger generation.
Kids these days are becoming more stubborn or ‘negatively matured’, to put it that way.
It is becoming a common sight to see primary school students and even very young kids taking drugs and alcohol which leads to misbehaving in schools, homes and in public. This clearly shows an ethical breakdown in parenting.
Parents have been irresponsible in the upbringing of their children.
The attitude of some children is alarming and scary for the future this country.
I can’t imagine how an alcoholic can raise a child? Immature and irresponsible decisions of young people to conceive too early is also adding to this problem.
This issue is right under our nose and we have not taken a stand against it. We have to start by ending ignorance.
