A TOTAL of 16,025 teachers will receive their outstanding performance salary (PBSS) on Sept 25, Education Minister James Marape said.
He made this known while opening the Sogeri National High School computer laboratory last week.
He added that a review of more than 44,000 teacher’s records also identified those who will not be paid.
These include :
* Those already paid with the correct rate;
* Those whose salary is at the top of their range;
* Elementary trainees who are not entitled to this pay; and
* Those who had been on prolonged suspension from the payroll.
Mr Marape said there was consultation among the TSC, the Education Department and the PNG Teachers’ Association over teacher’s salary under-payments.
The Treasury Department has allocated K45,000 to cover the PBSS payments.
