Teachers analysing books

Education

PRIMARY school teachers in Gazelle, East New Britain (ENB), are nearing the completion of their standards-based curriculum (SBC) book unpacking.
The last two local level governments Lassul and Inland Baining would conduct theirs this week.
Gazelle education coordinator Mortan Luaina and district inspectors Martha Berom and Rhoda Vinal visited schools in the district to ensure teachers have analysed the new books introduced by the Education Department under the SBC and the National School Medium Standards.
Last Monday the second last lot of 12 remote schools under the inland Baining LLG had the analysis of the two books – mathematics and science – for grade three and six at Vunapalading Primary School hall.
The inspectors went through the books and facilitated discussions.
Luaina said they were instructed by the Education Department to implement the SBC.
