TEACHERS in Lae schools successfully ended a three-day training of trainers workshop on behavioural management policy last Friday.

The workshop was attended by more than 20 teachers from schools in the city and the eight districts.

It was facilitated by Maryann Kuman, the provincial education guidance officer.

The training was intended for Lae district schools but invitations were sent to the teachers from the districts who were chosen by their school inspectors to attend.

Teachers who attended must implement the policy in their districts, Lae district primary schools in-service chairwoman, Cathrine Tobem said.

Tobem said the policy covered many approaches in managing student behaviour but they had covered how to solve problems, how to go about school councils and creating school management policies where each school was tasked to involve parents, stakeholders, school SRC and the community to contribute meaningfully to the rules of the school.
