Teachers pay issue

Letters

I AM an elementary teacher in the most disadvantaged Jimi electorate in Jiwaka.
I have had to travel from my village to Port Moresby to sort out my missed salaries for a period of four years.
That is for the period between 2014 and 2017.
From what has been revealed to me at the Education Department, computer record shows that my missed four years period salaries were paid to a bank account in Mt Hagen with Westpac bank that bears my name but a different account number.
When I handed in my account details to Jiwaka education officials, my account was with BSP Bank.
I conclude that there is a collaboration between education officials at Jiwaka education office and those officers at the salaries division at the national education headquarter for this to happen.
I have a feeling many others will come with the same after reading my letter.
I appeal to relevant authorities to look into this also.
