TEACHERS at a school are angry that their quarters have been demolished to make way for an extension to the nearby Tari Airport in Hela.
And the teachers at the Tari Admin Primary School are demanding that they be provided accommodation immediately since classes have resumed.
Local community leader Peter Andaya said eight homes belonging to senior teachers were demolished by construction company Curtain Brothers which was extending the Tari airport.
Andaya said some of the affected teachers had spoken to him and requested that their homes be rebuilt quickly so their families could have proper accommodation.
They are questioning the construction company and the Southern Highlands education board why the teachers’ houses were not built before school began.
