Team Oro boxing gets boost

 TEAM Oro boxing is set to take the  PNG Games by storm, come November.

This is due to it recently receiving a boost of K20,000 from Oro Governor Gary Juffa to buy boxing equipment for its squad.

Oro Boxing Association chairman, Donald Hauko thanked Juffa for the support.

Hauko confirmed that seven males and two females will represent Team Oro in boxing.

He said notable boxers in the squad were Philip Jikari, Spencer Francis, Mack Ihari and Joseph Sirofa while the rest are unknowns from the rural areas of the province.

He is confident that Jikari (80kg), Francis (52kg), Sirofa (56kg) and Ihari are gold medal prospects. 

He said the boxers will move into camp in October before making their way to Lae.
