Team PNG gets uniforms for Games

TEAM Papua New Guinea to the Pacific Mini Games were issued their uniforms before their departure to Saipan, Northern Marianas, on Sunday.
The Games will begin with Friday’s opening ceremony and end next Saturday.
The uniform sets include a jacket, a matching pair of tracksuits (top and bottom), a pair of shoes, two pairs of socks (black and white), training wear, leisure wear, cap, water bottle, backpack and travelling bag.
The Team PNG walkout wear will be unveiled during the opening ceremony while the flag bearer will be named this week.
The PNG Olympic Committee acknowledged its suppliers for ensuring all uniforms arrived on schedule.
The suppliers were Axxelerate Sport (generic team wear), Niugini Native (walkout uniforms and bags) Trophy Haus (shoes) and East Sepik small-to-medium enterprises (bilums).
The country’s contingent is made up of 85 athletes, 21 sports officials and a 14-member general management team.
Team PNG will only be competing in five out of nine sports on the Games programme.
They are athletics (including para-athletics), va’a, golf, weightlifting and tennis.
