Team PNG shooting focus on competitive edge
The National, Thursday July 9th, 2015
THE PNG shooting team PNG is still content and focused to meet other countries in the Single Barrel Mix session today.
“We are content anticipating today’s competition — we never know what may come of it.
“We already have a gold for a different category and we aim for more,” national trainer Peter Leahy said yesterday.
“There are different talents and strengths to put in today but we will maintain our mental concentration to be in the top three in the shooting comp’s medal tally,” he said.
“We want to just concentrate on the basics — balance, focus and team work,” Leahy said.
Peter Leahy, Darcy Leah, Angus Donald and Danny Wanama are to go head-to-head against shooters from Fiji, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, Tahiti and Guam.
Leahy and son Darcy, who is the youngest team member, will be among the four PNG shooters to compete today.
Darcy will compete in the points score shotgun and single barrel shotgun, while Leahy will only compete in the shotgun event.
