Teams rolled out services despite pandemic: Official

FINANCE Department national programme manager Sam Erepan says provincial representatives must have a fair idea about what they have done and what is yet to be done.
“Despite the impacts of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic throughout last year, the provincial capacity building teams were able to help roll out their services,” he said.
Speaking at a year-end review workshop in Port Moresby for provincial financial officers, Erepan said financial activities at the provincial level was currently under review with the Australian department of foreign affairs and trade and the United Nations Development Programme.
The workshop was attended by 20 provincial finance managers who presented their annual reports.
The workshop aimed to:

  • REVIEW site advisers 2021 work plans and identify activities which were not implemented due to the Covid-19 pandemic and IT infrastructure Hike and have them listed for the 2022 work plan implementations;
  • SUPPORT sub-national by reviewing current manual record keeping of transactions in provinces during these crisis period and ensure there is consistency throughout the provinces to make work easier when inputting data; and,
  • CREATE awareness for the next new phase of the programme from 2023 to 2025.
