MALAHANG Technical High School recently received K100,000 for its operations.

The timely assistance to the school was made by Nawaeb MP and Vice Minister for Education Gisuwat Siniwin in front of the school staff, PNC party president Garret Kising and the students.

Siniwin also presented keys to a new vehicle for the Nawaeb district treasury.

He said the school had been forgotten over the years because it was located between Lae and Nawaeb districts.

“This presentation of the K100,000 to the institution is to maintain the school’s operations,” he said.  “To see that it runs smoothly to the end of the school year.”

He urged stakeholders to make Malahang a better place to attract teachers and students from other centres.

Siniwin also committed K250,000 to the school for new classrooms.

Principal Winstanly Taomba said the school had been ignored over the past years with no change taking place.

He thanked Siniwin for the contribution.

Taomba said this year, the school enrolement increased from 700 to 900 students and Siniwin’s help would cater for their needs.
