Tech to offer advanced diploma programmes

The National Polytechnic Institute will become a centre for excellence and will be offering national advanced diplomas next year.
It will offer national advanced diplomas in accounting, business, business administration, human resource management, leadership and management, marketing and communication, laboratory operations, food science and technology.
The centre of excellence working committee under the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, in collaboration with lead industries and stakeholders were reviewing and designing the advanced diploma programme courses.
The other programmes designed by the committee were building and construction, drafting and architecture, surveying, civil and structural engineering, construction (site management), electrical, electronics and communication, mechanical engineering, engineering technology (air-conditioning and refrigeration).
The other programmes that would be offering advanced diploma under national qualification framework were tourism, hospitality management, and national advanced diploma of events management.
