STUDENTS of the Ted Diro Primary School in Port Moresby received the tuition fee free education commodity component.
It contains teaching and learning materials for students and teachers.
They include exercise books, pencils, ball-point pens, rulers, sharpeners and erasers.
The kits are packed differently to meet the needs of students from primary to high schools.
Ted Diro Primary School was chosen by the management of Treid Pacific Ltd to demonstrate the distribution and documentation process for the commodity component.
Treid Pacific Ltd had been contracted by the Government to manufacture and distribute the basic school materials required by students and teachers nationwide.
The pre-packed kits would be distributed according to enrolments.
Once the kits have been received by students, teachers will check their names on the registration forms.
The students themselves would also have to sign the forms.
This was to ensure there was documentary proof of receipt by every student.
The kits were to be distributed to schools at the beginning of each term.
“It is easy to distribute in urban areas but difficult for remote schools as we have to supply them once in two terms or once a year,” Wilson David, general manager of Treid Pacific said.
