PHASE 1 of bemobile’s rollout programme in Papua New Guinea will be completed by end of this month with the installation of three towers in Eastern Highlands and one in Central.
The sites which will function as relay stations cover Yonki, Matega and Moimo in the Eastern Highlands and the Doa plantation along the Hiritano Highway in Central.
bemobile’s deployment director Kevin Kirk said the 45m-tower installations would boost the network’s performance better than  at the moment.
After this phase, the technical team will venture into the construction of treasury sites.
These sites are Telikom-secured, fully-funded by the Government and given to bemobile for the rollout programme.
Kirk said to date seven of the 22 sites have been completed and operational.
They are Matukar in Madang, Lufa in EHP, Tambul in WHP, Moreguina and Kemabolo in Central, Kompiam in Enga and Nipa in SHP.
Nine sites are awaiting base transmission system installation with civil works already completed.
These include Lumi and Wutung in WSP, Bakawari in  ARB, Mt Buriwa in ESP, Malalaua in Gulf, Mt Sisa in Milne Bay, Duke of York in ENB, Gembogl in Simbu and Logewang in Morobe.
