TELIKOM is sponsoring the University of Papua New Guinea Open College 10th anniversary corporate dinner tonight at the Dynasty Restaurant, Vision City, Port Moresby.
The open college has organised the dinner as a major drive to raise money it needs to undertake a series of activities for its 10th anniversary celebrations in October.
Former Port Moresby South parliamentarian Dame Carol Kidu will be the guest speaker at the dinner.
Open College executive director Prof Samuel Haihuie said planned activities for the celebrations included a symposium on open and distance learning in the country, a supplement published in the two main daily newspapers, and an open day nationwide at its 26 study centres, and in the Solomon Islands from Oct 10-13.
Receiving K10,000 in sponsorship on August 13 from Telikom acting chief executive officer Charles Litau, Haihuie said despite the short notice in asking for sponsorship, the feedback from Telikom  was overwhelming.
The open college was established in 2002.
As a non-profit organisation, its tuition fees have been at the same level for 10 years.
Haihuie thanked Telikom and individuals who had pledged financial support towards the hosting of the dinner.
