TELIKOM beat Edatec Scorpions 3-0 to claim their third successive National Capital District Volleyball Association women’s premier division title on Saturday.
The grand final win made Telikom one of the competition’s most successful clubs.
Coach Mea Johang was happywith the performance put on by his side who dominated all three sets at the Taurama Aquatic Centre in Port Moresby
Telikom’s Kemmy Manoni and Alice Ito were outstanding displaying powerful spikes that had the opposition struggling to match them.
“We didn’t wait for anything, from the beginning, we dominated because we wanted the win and the girls just dominated from the first serve and I’m so proud of them,” Johang said.
Scorpions on the other hand saw brave efforts from captain Michelle Walo and Isa Hicks, who tried all they could to drag their side into the contest however the Scorpions had no answers for the pace and intensity that Telikom brought to the final.
Johang said being champions for three years in a row was a sign that the club had a great culture and a group of players who were committed to the casuse and had the talent to win.
He said the aim was to continue reaching a high standard through the next season and hopefully by in line to defend their title.
