Telikom TV channel sets competition

THE launching of Telikom PNG Ltd television channel on Thursday in Lae is good competition for other similar service providers, Lae MP John Rosso says.
Rosso welcomed the new Telikom TV in Lae which the Lae city authority will be a partner of.
“This means that LCA’s events, public notices and news as well as other information meant for public consumption can now be broadcast on Telikom TV,” he said.
The new Telikom TV triple play channel can be accessed through the internet.
Telikom acting head of operations John Ovia said Telikom TV was offering 41 channels.
“Additional channels will be based on those that PNG citizens prioritise and that is something that viewers can be treated to their own preferences in terms of TV channels,” he said.
Telikom PNG Ltd acting business manager Persh Tapend said they were giving a wide range of channels around the world as well as local news.

  • Telkom TV, when Will other centers of PNG access this TV service? Like Goroka. If channel 9 of Australia is one of the channel, Will it broadcast NRL?

  • Very good news for the PNG owned Telikom TV,please broadcast NRL live as we people of PNG are die hard rugby league fans…Digicel are robbing us with introducing play box pay viewer unlike the previously that EMTV used to broadcast free view for everybody in PNG to watch live NRL games..
