ANTICIPATION is increasing with only a couple days to go before the staging of the first teqball tournament in Papua New Guinea.
TeqPNG president Percy Mataio expressed his excitement when thanking Trophy Haus and bmobile for their support of the tournament.
“To have two established companies such as Trophy Haus and bmobile coming on board to partner TeqPNG and support our first tournament is fantastic,” he said.
“Bmobile is our official communications partner for the tournament and Trophy Haus will be providing trophies and medals for the tournament.
“We are also grateful to the PNG Sports Foundation and its venue management, and PNG High Performance Sport.”
The National Challenger Series tournament will see teqball players testing their skills in the singles and doubles format of the sport with matches to be played at the Sir John Guise Stadium Indoor Complex.
With coronavirus protocols affecting the staging of the event and crowd numbers, TeqPNG will be live-streaming the tournament on their Facebook page for those interested in watching teqball action.
Speaking on registrations for the tournament, Mataio said: “We are pleased with the level of interest shown by those registering to compete in the tournament.”
“We encourage those who might be sitting on the fence that they should try teqball as a sport that is new, exciting and fun, with all abilities and ages welcome to take part.”
