Tere-Apisah falls in final

 PNG tennis player Marcia Tere-Apisah lost to Hong Kong’s Claire Spackman in the final of the the South Pacific Junior Championship in Lautoka last Friday.

Spackman beat Tere-Apisah 6-3, 6-3.Tournament referee Patrick O’Rourke said it was a positive sign to see the island girls perform well in the event. He said they gained a lot of experience playing in overseas tournaments.

“They have gained experience over the years. Oceania Tennis Federation and the International Tennis Federation have been sending them offshore to play in events. That experience has shown here. They have competed very well. It is good to see them develop.”
