TFF fund cut is not ‘taking back PNG’

Letters

THE Government has to reconsider its education budget cut.
The TFF (tuition fee free) policy has been implemented since 2012 by the O’Neill government and it has been beneficial to many students.
If the TFF had not been implemented there wouldn’t be any educated people holding higher positions to run this country.
Not all students come from rich families.
In a family there may be four to six children, some are in primary and secondary schools while others in tertiary institutions.
It’s a burden to parents who cannot afford school fees for all their children.
The government should consider the drastic consequences before cutting the education budget.
Students who cannot afford tuition fees will end up doing criminal activities. Girls will get married at an early age.
The Government’s slogan is to “Take Back PNG”.
What is it that you want to take back? PNG is made up of people.
Is cutting the education budget the probable way of taking back PNG?

  • Government must pay the school fees. Many many children will stay back home if not paid. Many years back millions of kina has been stolen and missused giving all kinds of excuses. Human resource is the key to everything. Government is making millions through wage and salary tax that is from educated employees. what can you earn if students are uneducated, unemployed and not creative. this is worse. JM should reconsider TFF Funds if he really meant to increase HDI and make PNG a rich nation. Otherwise i am sorry, PNG will go down the drain.

  • Tareyok Amboekali Kuimyok… DO YOU HAVE LAND OR NOT. DO SOMETHING AND PLAN FOR YOUR KIDS FUTURE IF YOU HAVE ONE. ITS ABOUT TIME YOU WAKE UP FROM YOUR SLEEPING BED NOW AND THINK POSITIVE……..The TFF policy is the best policy so far instead of you sleeping whole day and dreaming. You must be living in a dream world. THINK THINK and THINK with you sleeping rusty brain.
