Thank you for saving our public servants

Letters

THE recent cancellation of public servants’ pay deduction codes for loan deduction is a great leap forward.
The Finance Department should be credited for this brave move.
Public servants in the country are actually servants to loan institutions.
For decades, loan institutions have been draining them with very high interests.
The priority of “Taking back Papua New Guinea” by the Government is being fulfilled in a very significant manner.
The Government, through the Finance Department, has brought back public servants into reality and delivered them from loan slavery.
Loan institutions have made millions of kinas from public servants for years.
These has affected their work and lives.
Many public servants are addicted to getting loans.
But, in the end, they suffer.
With standards of living spiraling down the drain, loan repayments only make lives harder.
I believe the Government has done our public servants a huge favour in rescuing them from loan sharks.
Kudos to Finance Minister Sir John Pundari and the Finance Department.
