THANK you to all candidates who stood up as true leaders and raised your hands to lead Goroka and its people.
You are the true sons and daughters of our beautiful peace-loving Eastern Highlands.
You work tirelessly with limited resources to lead us and now the majority has spoken.
To all candidates, we do not forsake you nor your leadership.
I love this quote from Douglas MacArthur: “A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent”.
We still respect you as our leaders.
We are humbled and grateful for your time and commitment for displaying true characters of being a leader.
We should learn to accept defeat, challenges, and welcome criticisms with open arms.
