Thank you Lae police

Letters

LAE police is commended for the effective policing in the industrial city of Papua New Guinea.
Even though the Lae metro command lacks manpower, logistics and other resources to carry normal policing duties in the province, they utilise the resources they have to effectively deliver expected results, making Lae a safe place to live in.
Our police in Lae are faithfully and tirelessly performing their duties.
With the introduction of sector response unit (SRU) and a toll free number (70903300) by former Lae Met Supt Anthony Wagambie Jnr (now Assistant Comm of Police NCD/Central divisional command), police presence is felt in the city.
That resulted in the drop in crimes.
Compared to police in other provinces, Lae police have fewer cases of police brutality.
So far, there has been no complaints about officers being bribed to do their job.
They don’t carry out unauthorised or unnecessary activities such as checkpoints and vehicle checks, you find them at crime scenes .
Lae police make sure mothers, daughters, sisters and other vulnerable people are safe.
I commend Lae police for their faithful commitment to their jobs and making Lae safe.
