Thank you mobile squad 08

Letters

THE Kerowagi-based mobile squad, MS 08, under the leadership of their commander, David Tagete, are doing an outstanding work in Port Moresby.
They were stationed at the Parliament to help with security.
There are no security issues and the area around the Parliament is trouble-free just as other parliament sessions.
Seeing the unit with its young members gives us peace that our parliamentarians and people are safe.
The squad was initially known as MS 11 and was changed to MS 08.
They are the best when it comes to police operations around the country.
Their discipline is impressive.
One of their barracks is near the Highlands Highway near the Ganige Bridge, which makes it easier for them attend to complaints raised by travellers.
There are many instances where the squad has been called in to address issues.
Most of these cases were tribal warfare, destruction of properties and other criminal activities.
One of the tribal conflict that they quelled before it escalated was conflict between the Gena and Siku tribes over land.
Even though there were few reported casualties, the conflict ended with a ceasefire.
A similar case was in the Kup local level government which the MS 08 intervened to help.
The squad is known for its reputation of serving with dignity.
Keep up the superb and terrific work commander Tagete and the MS 08 team.
